The halftime show!

Our pregnancy is HALF over. I'm at the 20 week mark, 20 more (hopefully less) to go!

I like being pregnant. Strangers are really nice when you tell them you are expecting, its an easy conversation topic and people have been really enthusiastic and supportive. I like it. Of course friends and family are all of that too, but its a different feeling when its a stranger. hello new attention

I started working out again, and by "working out" I mean a walk around the block which I had to rest for 30 mins afterward because tired me out. I saw a woman on TV 6 months pregnant running in a forest.....overachiever.

I can't say how phenomenally supportive James has been this whole time. He's been making this journey really wonderful and fulfilling. He has been talking to her, claiming her opinion on his side when a disagreement comes up, took me maternity shopping when I felt I felt frumpy and uninspired, hooked up with moonbeams coffee and lemon cupcakes. Its all cute. I love it!

We have received more gifts! His friend Tyler purchased the crib set off the baby registry and my friend Lisa sent a ridiculously cute fuzzy giraffe blanket our baby will look so GLAMOROUS in. no joke. (she said all the celeb moms have one, heyyyy!!)

I picked up a job a children's clothing store --> discount, yay!

I've found a childbirth class, looks like I'm going to have to take a bunch because I have never been around a baby before. The lady said I don't have to take them until January, which is after the holidays. I think we are going to have the baby shower in January too, we are just waiting to hear about the location, then ordering invites, then mailing them out, but thinking about food.....

Next Monday I have a Dr. checkup.

I had a "chic" phoot-shoot with a old classmate for his portfolio class! I can't wait to see the finish product. He wanted to use my belly so i let him! We also came up with another concept for when I get bigger. I'm really excited about that. Check out his stuff CLICKME

weekend update

This weekend, with the help of my Tia Elida, I added what I was missing from our registry. I was missing alot, like receiving blankets, crib sheets, bottle sterilizer, teething toys etc. I was real appericiative she took the time to help me out.

James and I decided to stay away from the color pink. We had also checked out cribs at Babies R Us. I really liked what they had to offer, thick, sturdy, wood cribs with the ability to convert to a bed later on.

Here is the registry info:

I've realized how important to my mental health it is to maintain myself. Some days I feel like crazy Britney. If I put the time to fix myself up I feel like a star and my happiness goes up.

My baby girl has been squirming around more!! At first I thought she was kicking or it was gas I wasn't too sure, but now I'm postive it's her. Today she must've known the Chicago Bears were playing because she woke up just in time and started putting her little foot into my bladder. It felt like a gentle finger poke at my bladder. I'm not going to think about how it's going to feel when she's bigger =\. My belly button felt funny

My leg pains are a killer though!!! Only on my right, the pain wakes me up in the middle of the night

Baby registry time

We registered at Target today. I gave us a time limit of 45 mins :) I'm not sure if we got everything we really need. I aimed for the basics, diapers, stroller, car seat etc. There are some items I'm staying away from, like plastics bottles and toys. I don't trust plastic. I prefer glass bottles & wooden toys....but Target doesn't seem to carry too many wooden or cloth toys.

I need someone to proof read our registry, I hear diapers are important and babies potty up to 10 times a day. (crazy!)

I asked my friend to design a baby shower invite. Hopefully we'll figure out something non-cheesy lol. A lot of people have offered to help out which is really nice! So I am getting excited, yay

4 months

I should say, I'm feeling better... more like myself. I have more energy but my body traded queasiness for leg pains that keep me up some nights. I have abdominal pains, my insides are stretching to make more room for baby. I had some massive headaches and caught a small cold. The Dr said Im able to take Benadryl and Tylenol. I have dry skin...every time I look down at my hands I see future old lady hands *sigh* and I've gained 6 pounds since last month.... 19 more to go :)

Hello Baby Girl!

I'm going to have a mini me! Which means a baby girl!

I called my Dad to tell him, but he already knew weeks before our conversation kinda went like this:
Me: Next appointment. we find out what we are having.
Dad: oh you are? I already know what you are having
Me *shocked*: you do? How?
Dad: I just know, how many girls does James's family have?
Me: none, maybe two.
Dad: see. There you go!

How did he know? Sometimes he forgets where he puts his sunglasses when they're already on his head. How did everyone know?? I kept a open mind and secretly tried not to favor one choice over the other...

Our sonogram technician was a little kooky. He was toying with us! He started the ultrasound by saying "here's 'his' leg" so I said "it's aboy?!?" he said "no." (what?? Why say that?!?) that he was being gender unbias or something that made me mad because he confused me. He pointed out baby's head, feet, bones, and missing boy parts. Our baby now has a skeleton! Our first ultrasounds, baby was a bunch of mush.Seeing the spine was pretty amazing. She was also moving around A LOT. I said that to the Dr and she said because there is alot of fluid I won't feel it too much, but in a few months I will. Watching her move made me more relaxed, I know she's in there!

For a few hours after hearing "it's a girl" the world slowed down. We had pizza at California Pizza Kitchen, the place was clamouring with lunch talk, all I could hear was the music....I guess I was kind of dazed, mostly in 'awe'

James sent out a multiple text to all his friends "Girls just want to have fun!" His mom replied "yay just what I wanted!" She'll be the first girl grand baby for his side which has two baby boys. I texted everyone I could think of, called my grandma who said she thought I was going to have a boy & told me to be careful walking up/down stairs.

After lunch we browsed around different stores, checked out the pottery barn for kids. James saw a crib mobile and asked if we could have a soccer mobile. I said "ok", then he turned it on, it played music, then I started to cry. He held me in the middle of the store til I stopped. I think the reason I broke down is because I imagined our teeny baby sleeping. It's hard not to be emotional, I enjoy it, I think it may scare James alittle...a grown girl, crying in public for no REAL reason...oh well!

We found a multi colored corduroy dress with flowers and a white cardigan with a owl patch at Gymboree. Zero to three months. It's going to be her "debut" dress! James tried to hang the new outfit in the closet but the hangers were too big. He bent a wire hanger, hung up the outfit on the wall and said "I made a baby hanger" haha it was adorable. I guess that's something I need to write down for the baby shower "baby hangers"

I told James, "I hope she looks like me!!" James said "I'd make a pretty girl, I have nice lashes"

lol.
