No baby

So these back pains I've been having are just pains. They're not
anything special. The doctor explained how real pre labor pains should
feel. I'm not even dilated either. I am bummed out, I wanted exciting
news... Instead I got violated by a rubber glove. I bet she's going
to come late. My tummy is sensitive to touch, I'm kinda snappy if
someone touches me especially my belly button.

I talked to her about epidural, she told me not to rule it out
completely and to be open. I guess the pain is alot more intense then
I'm expecting. I also asked about c sections...she made it seem like
the possibility of the surgery for me is really low :)

Next appointment is Monday.... More violating rubber gloves :(((

Full term!! Full term!!

Full term! Full term! Baby can thrive outside of mommy now! I did
it :) I have a completely cooked bun in my oven! We're just waiting
for the timer to go off now.

The past three days I've had lower back pain, it's low, dull and has a
tingly numbing sensation. I'm trying not to get excited since labor
seems to be a drawn out process. My anxitey is spilling into my
dreams. I just don't want to be too excited then let down that it's a
false alarm.

I tried calling my doctor for reassurance, her office is closed on
Fridays, I never knew that!! I know that every pregnancy is different
I Just don't want to be the girl on the lifetime channel who thinks
she had to use the restroom really bad and turns out the babys head is
peaking out.

At our last visit, I asked the doctor what contractions should really
feel like. I've been reading birthing stories, and a lot of them say
"I was having adominal pains, like menstural cramps..." I only ask
because I haven't felt any "practice contractions" and it's getting
closer.

According to her, these women are not sane. Lol. She made it seem like
they sugarcoat labor.

Our hospital bag is packed, it's loaded with toiletries, candy,
snacks, towels, clothes for mama and the baby :)

The Dont's of Visiting a New Baby in the Hospital

Thought this was interesting

The first few days after a baby's birth are like living in a bubble so hospital visitors shouldn't burst it. Doting mothers stare at their new bundles of joy in awe and focus on if and when their babies are eating, sleeping and pooping. The following is a list of off-limit topics and behaviors for those heading to the maternity ward.
  • Don't snap mad photos without permission — especially if the mama has a visible catheter bag or stained sheets.
  • Don't stare or ask to touch her brand-new Dolly Parton boobs. News flash: engorged breasts hurt!
  • Don't ask if she had her tubes tied or if her hubby is getting a vasectomy.
  • Don't discuss the family's carbon footprint.
  • Don't ask if there's any way the baby's conehead can be molded.
  • No matter how big the baby's head is, don't speculate about the size of her pelvis or hips.
  • Don't refer to the child as having "elf ears."
  • Don't attribute every baby smile to gas.
  • Don't mention that you think today's parents don't have a clue.
  • Don't ask when they are going to try for another one!
  • Don't question if the husband is really the father since the baby looks nothing like him!
  • Don't try to persuade the parents to change the baby's name by coming up with all the awful nicknames you think the child faces.
  • Don't talk about everything that is wrong with the world.
  • Unless she offers, don't ask the degree of her tear.
  • Don't exclaim, "Oh, I love your mom pooch!" It's not like she can speed up a contracting uterus.

Cancer Free!!

I got the call today I am cancer free! Like I said before, I wasn't going to worry until I got the results back. The doctor said its benign and I'll have to get it removed after breastfeeding. I probably had it before I was pregnant, the hormones probably sped up the growth.

I don't know how I feel about going under the knife again, I won't have to be put to sleep, it will be an in office visit / surgery. ehhhh...I was in pretty decent pain the day of the biopsy, the next day I was fine (James staying home to take care of me helped me out a lot). It did make me think of how labor is going to feel and how I'll feel the next day...I had bruising =(

At least I'll have some more free time to finish my "thank you" cards from the shower and blogs I haven't posted. I have been running around waayyy too much for all these doctor visits... only 26days LEFT

Dream

Tonight I had a dream I was riding cross country on the back of a
motorcycle. As we rode through mountains the snow was melting because
of the changing, warmer season. The water running down looked like
rivers, gushing down the hills.

Does that mean my water will break soon? It's a dream about flowing
water

dropped!

Little Miss Sora Marie has descended down :)

Shes dropped, she's packing her bags and leaving some (stretch ) marks as she moves on down :) the doctor said her head is in my pelvis she could tell without touching me. She said she could come any day now :) but she also said because im a first time mom she wouldn't be coming too early, its "highly unlikely"

My friends invited me out to dinner in the city tonight, James was concerned that I would go into labor and he wouldn't be there to take me to the hospital. I asked the doctor what our chances of Sora coming tonight were. She said she wouldn't....then I told her I wanted to have dinner with friends and she said I should go and do stuff before the baby comes....so I basically got a doctors note to go out to eat with my buddies. =)

Biopsy

Today I had a biopsy on my breast with the lumps. Originally it was
one mass, which ended up being four, then I found another one, which
ended up being a cluster of three. I was seen by two specialists, they
wanted to try to find out if the lumps were cancerous. Pregnancy
hormones make cancer cells grow faster =[

My 2nd ultrasound was done in a private office, the Dr asked if I had
time to do a biopsy. I had the time and the nurse explained in detail
what the biopsy entailed. Two numbing shots on each side, another shot
to decrease bleeding, a small "grain of rice" sized incision, a vacuum
machine to suck out tissue on one side, a turkey baster looking tool
used on the other then a mammogram at the end.

It was all painless, I did get nervous when the second cut was made. I
felt my blood roll down my side towards my back. It was really warm
and had an eerie feeling. The doctor and nurse talked to me the whole time,
explained what they were doing, encouraged me that I was doing good.
They worked fast without any complications!

After I had my first mammogram. Those are not fun and pretty painful.
When I was all finished I was bandaged up, nurse Melissa handed me a
orange rose, and sent me home. two hours at the doctor-Boo. At least
they were very pleasant and kept me in the loop as everything was
going on.

Now I have to rest and can't lift anything heavy. James took the day
off to help me. Steph brought me sushi and a chocolate chip cookie. I
feel so loved, and some throbbing pain.

Infant care class

I took a "this is a baby learn how to take care of it properly" class with my sister, which was awesome because right when we walked in she first told me to sit with the "brown baby", then turned the doll into a puppet who kept demanding attention and asking me "are you ready for this??"

We both have never changed a diaper before or swaddled a baby. So we learned how to do so, and how to take an underarm tempurature, different ways to quiet a crying baby....

I cant tell if I learned anything, we did get a bag of free cookies and candies when we asked a group of nurses for directions. They were all very eager to dump everything off on us. =)
