Our friends rented a house in a vacation home/gated community, driving up to the house mama & baby deer darted around in the bushes. After settling in, we drove to the nearest grocery to buy stuff for dinner. We made spaghetti with meat balls, garlic bread and salad. Everyone turned in early
5am the guys woke up, were not all trying to be quiet while getting ready....jerks. Sora started waking up, the batteries died in her swing which meant I had to manually push her back to sleep. Oh and they left a nice mess of broken eggs, opened packets of oatmeal in the kitchen for us to clean up. After cleaning up the mess we made pancakes, eggs and bacon for breakfast. After breakfast we changed, made lunch, packed up and headed to the lake.
We spent a few relaxing hours by the lake. It was so quiet and peaceful, we were detached from the internet, text messages and cell phone reception. At first not having cell service sucked, but then no one calls or texts me anyways (besides James) so I got over it quickly. But later I was playing with Sora and a spider ran next to us which made me think "crap, if something happens to her...where is the nearest hospital...I can't call out" Turns out there was a house phone and WI-FI. The lake water was warm, the beach we were at was small and had a few boats tied up to the shore. I dipped Soras toes in the water, she didn't seem to care. The cute H&M flower hat I bought her fits her tight now :(
After the lake, Sora and I took a nap for a few hours. I expected the guys to be back at 6pm or 7pm. They were supposed to grill dinner, they were coming back later then expected! Adele and Ana went to the store to buy dinner, when they came back we started prepping. About 9 pm the guys walk in the door. We told them they couldn't take showers they needed to sit down to eat since dinner finished right when they walked in.
We played a drinking game til 2am. The next morning we packed up, headed into town for coffee, lunch and a browse into the "oldest saloon in America".
The drive back home was a little easier, the guys were supposed to drive with the girls....James didn't look too cool with that...Ana said if we drive with them back then the girls get a "special day" with out the kids.
I'm looking forward to this Thursday!!
